Customer Review: Blew up my boat!
I bought this pump for my Sevylor HF350 inflatable boat. It blew it up in about 20 minutes of actual run time. The directions read to take a 20 minute break after 10 minutes of continuous use.

I was surprised by how it keeps on pumping even with a lot of back pressure and resistance from the inflatable.

Afterwards, I blew up a Coleman Colossus raft in about 5 minutes, and an air mattress in about 2 min!!

So far, I think it’s a great value.

In the late eighties I was an aerobics fanatic. I tried so many different videos it was ridculous. This Jane Fonda work out was the absolute best. I used it for years. I thought it was thorough, covered all the body parts and the results were an overall slimming of the entire body without bulking up any part of my body. During my jogging phase, I noticed that my legs got bulky, which I didn’t like. This work out starts with warms ups, aerobics that are intense, floor work to stretch and strengthen legs, tummy and everything else and a good cool down that you are very grateful for. I always felt really good after these workouts and very proud of myself. I am now rededicating myself to a daily workout schedule and the first thing that came to mind was this video. I will start with the beginners version and work myself up to the advanced. It is so good it’s almost ridiculous!!

It’s much smaller than I expected, which makes it less interesting for my baby…the animals are too small for him to really see well. The sounds are mostly great…except that the sound of the rabbit is a “boing” for hopping, which isn’t really consistent with what sounds the animals “make.” The other oddity is the “owl” which isn’t an owl, but a “barn owl.” Seems a little complicated. Anyway, still it’s a fun and safe toy for us to play with together.

What is junior high school but a strange, disorienting pastiche of black comedy, tragedy, soap opera, and (most of all) horror movie? Well, that pretty much describes Todd Solondz’s astonishingly honest and clear-sighted film, Welcome to the Dollhouse. Like Solondz’s even more controversial follow-up–the acclaimed and despised Happiness (1998)–Dollhouse unflinchingly looks deep into its characters’ souls (and their embarrassing desires, and their floundering sexuality) in ways that can be simultaneously disturbing and liberating, appalling and hilarious. Dawn Wiener (Heather Matarazzo) is a hapless seventh-grade geek whose cruel and contemptuous schoolmates have nicknamed her (what else?) “Wiener Dog.” Everything about Dawn is so awkward–the way she looks, talks, moves–that it’s no wonder other kids dump on her. They’re most likely so insecure about themselves that they’re terrified of the Wiener Dog they know lurks somewhere down inside themselves, too. So, the best social and psychological survival tactic is to distance themselves from Dawn by relentlessly reminding her of her “place” at the bottom of the junior-high pecking order. Solondz’s vision is hardly sentimental, and you wouldn’t even call it “compassionate,” but it is a moral vision: authentic, undiluted, and, in the end, understanding. –Jim Emerson
Customer Review: A bit depressing to be a fun Dollhouse
Todd Solondz does it again and for a reason. We’re introduce to Dawn Wiener (Heather Matarazzo), an awkward seventh grader who is put down by her peers because of her physical appearance. The taunting Dawn endures is extreme and does not come across as even slightly reminiscent of anything that happened in my high school, but this fact does not take away from the empathy we feel for her as she struggles through her daily life. As if school weren’t bad enough, Dawn’s home life doesn’t leave much to be desired. Her older brother Mark (Matthew Faber), is the “king of the geeks”. Her parents offer no support either. Dawn’s other sibling, Missy (Daria Kalinina), is the darling of the family who can do no wrong. She simply flits around the house in her pink tu-tu and makes Dawn’s life look hellish by comparison. Dawn’s life is further complicated by Brandon McCarthy (Brendan Sexton Jr.), the misunderstood juvenile who has taken a liking to her. At the beginning of their “relationship” he tells her he will rape her. This does not happen because of various circumstances, but Dawn ends up falling for this tough guy and eventually losing him when he runs away. Throughout the movie, it appears as if everyone in her life pours their derision upon anything she does, exposing all her weaknesses however carefully they might be hidden. Dawn, in turn, passes this on to the few people that she gets close to. This was not a realistic depiction of the hells of junior high school. For one thing, girls would pick on other girls, but in no way, whatsoever, would any of them force another to sit on the crapper in front of another as a forms of bullying. These are 11-12 year olds? Uh uh. Maybe 4 years older that would happen, but no one at that age would succumb to a type of humiliation that gross and tasteless. Our lead character is played brilliantly, and shows her determination in the face of endless adversity - in fact, the acting all around is excellent. But the movie denies the moments of redemption. Such a strong young warrior as Dawn would certainly have had some triumphs to share. While the movie is slow at times, it does pull on your heart string, and is definitely worth watching.

A harrowingly accurate, darkly hilarious look at that time of life most of us would prefer to forget, Solondz’s portrait of gawky pre-adolescence visits all the landmarks of childhood hell: peer abuse, sexual awkwardness, and the general sense that people are the source of all misery. Matarazzo is fantastic as the ostracized, alienated tween who suffers the insults and indignities of her peers with stoic resignation. Sexton (”Kids”) also registers well as Dawn’s cruel, glowering classmate. “Dollhouse” isn’t for younger kids, but teens and grown-ups will appreciate its bitingly funny blend of pathos and punishment.

Last of the Dogmen
Despite an irritating, tacked-on voice-over narration that somebody must have thought was necessary to make sense of the story (it wasn’t), Last of the Dogmen is actually a very moving and magical film. Tom Berenger plays a Montana bounty hunter who helps an anthropologist (Barbara Hershey) search for the descendants of a Cheyenne tribe who disappeared in the 1870s. What the two find in a remote mountain stretch is an entire community of Cheyenne who have kept themselves cut off from the modern world. A Dances with Wolves parallel emerges as the white outsiders gradually fit in, but Last of the Dogmen stands up just fine without comparison to any other films. As in Kevin Costner’s Oscar-winning movie, however, there are ways in which this film captures a similar sense of yearning, mystery, and loss. –Tom Keogh

Unless you are a Bernard Shaw fanatic I wouldn’t bother. These are mainly BBC 1970’s ‘Play of The Month” TV Shows. Low cost theater style productions which works with Dickens and George Eliot but not for BS. I haven’t been able to watch any play all the way through.

Customer Review: Where Can I Get Cartridge #2?
I Have 3 kids, 7, 5 and 2, and they all enjoy the Barbi Kareoke Guitar. The only problem, as with others commenting, is that we hear the same 3 songs over and over again. The cartridge that pulls out of the side has a ‘1′ on it, which would lead one to believe there is a cartridge 2 or even a 3 (I hope). Does anyone know how to get additional cartridges? I’ve looked on line have found nothing.

The top of the headset needs to go behind the neck. If you wear it this way, it should fit almost anyone. My husband, 4 year old daughter and I can all wear it with no problem this way. My daughter absolutely loves this guitar and the songs aren’t the same anyone, so they are more appropriate for little girls. This is by far one of the best toys that we got for my daughter for Christmas! Definitely recommended.

The Fab Four from Liverpool–John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr–in their first movie. Nobody expected A Hard Day’s Night to be much more than a quick exploitation of a passing musical fad, but when the film opened it immediately seduced the world–even the stuffiest critics fell over themselves in praise (highbrow Dwight Macdonald called it “not only a gay, spontaneous, inventive comedy but it is also as good cinema as I have seen for a long time”). Wisely, screenwriter Alun Owen based his script on the Beatles’ actual celebrity at the time, catching them in the delirious early rush of Beatlemania: eluding rampaging fans, killing time on trains and in hotels, appearing on a TV broadcast. American director Richard Lester, influenced by the freestyle French New Wave and British Goon Show humor, whips up a delightfully upbeat circus of perpetual motion. From the opening scene of the mop tops rushing through a train station mobbed by fans, the movie rarely stops for air. Some of the songs are straightforwardly presented, but others (”Can’t Buy Me Love,” set to the foursome gamboling around an empty field) soar with ingenuity. Above all, the Beatles express their irresistible personalities: droll, deadpan, infectiously cheeky. Better examples of pure cinematic joy are few and far between. –Robert Horton

Customer Review: Don’t Buy It !!!
I can’t agree more with the past two reviewers. As a ‘Beatle Nut’, I’ve always looked (& listened) with intent to find something new with each new release on The Beatles, whether it’s audio or video. This GARBAGE that MIRAMAX put out should be taken off the shelves. They’ve totally ripped their customers off (including me)! With today’s technology, it seems they could have sped the audio tracks up to match the ’standard pitch’ of the audio cds. Why the audio tracks ‘dragged’ from the onset of this movie’s release in ‘64 is beyond me. Don’t give me the excuse that it was to match the video - people are smarter than that! It’s just as easy (and more appealing) to speed video images up to the audio track than vice-versa. And to rip us all off by not offering at least a nice digital, stereo track - let alone 5.1 surround / 5.1 DTS??? The mono (digitally enhanced??) track they do offer is worse than Capitol Record’s version of ‘Duophonic Stereo’ on some of The Beatles’ early cuts. Shame on MIRAMAX. Let’s all start calling them MIRALAX…at least MIRALAX (an effective laxative) ‘gets you moving’ LOL! Seriously, people - rent it if you must see for yourself, but don’t buy this piece of s*%#! You’d be better off holding the money out the window @ 70 mph on the freeway - at least somebody worthwhile might profit from you. These morons should be forced out of business!

I bought this to use with my Skycaddie SG2 in my golf cart. The product description says that it uses the belt clip button on the back of the unit to attach to the cup holder mount. It does not. In fact, the button keeps you from laying the Skycaddie flat against the unit. It looks like it will still work however, as you set the Skycaddie on the small legs on the bottom of the holder, then squeeze the two foam covered side pads tightly against the Skycaddie. The adjustable mount base works well in golf cart cup holders, and the unit can be tilted and locked into your desired angle, which is nice. Shame about the misleading statement about using the belt clip button to lock it in place. Update: used it on the golf course yesterday, and it really works well. The side pads hold it securely, the tilt feature displays it to cart driver and passenger, and the mount can be adjusted to fit tightly in your cup holder. Maybe deserves four stars?

A nice collectible concert for living in the past as the song remains the same. Video transfer quality is ok considering the film is about 35 years old. Audio quality has been greatly improved and makes this title worthwhile for Zeppelin fans. This DVD replaced my VHS copy of the movie. The extras are also ok, nothing to get too excited about. If you are expecting the concert to look as good as modern day 16:9 standard DVD’s let alone HD DVD’s you will be disappointed. A must have for serious collectors as HD is being discontinued. I give this release four flaming chilies as it is Led Zeppelin after all.
