KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixers

KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixers
An update to KitchenAid’s most popular small appliance is their latest masterpiece - the 5-qt. Artisan Series Stand Mixer. In comparison to their previous 4.5-qt., this one is larger in capacity and combines a 325-watt motor with a heavy duty transmission that supplies constant power even when mixing heavy bread dough. Convenient, the polished stainless steel bowl is sized to hold large batches and recipes, and with its wide open design, accommodates the beater from the tilt-back head once it’s lowered into the bowl. The handle on the bowl is ergonomically designed, contoured to fit the hand, facilitating lifting and pouring. Like the other models, this one, too, features KitchenAid’s unique mixing action - the beater moves clockwise while the shaft moves counterclockwise, enabling the beater to reach every area as it mixes. It features 10 speeds from a very high to a very low stir. Included with your new stand mixer is a clear, two-piece pouring shield that fits around the top of the bowl, preventing splashes. A large chute lets you add ingredients along the way. Accessories include a Wire Whip, Flat Beater and Dough Hook for versatility. The rugged, durable, all-metal construction promises many years of dependability, quiet operation, and cooking and baking bliss.

Customer Review: Everyone needs a kitchen aid
I’ve had one for a few years and thought it would be a great present for my son.. He loves to cook and was very happy to get this addition to his kitchen

Customer Review: I love my KSM150PSWH Mixer!
I used a KitchenAid in a job, many years ago, so I knew what I was getting. This was a birthday present for myself, and I’m glad I bought it.

Christmas baking was as easy and efficient as it was to clean the machine. I was actually able to make perfect frosting for cookies and cakes, something not easily done with a hand mixer or my ancient Oster stand mixer. It had plenty of power to kneed even a very stiff sugar cookie dough.

If you’re thinking of adding a KitchenAid stand mixer to your home, this model is top notch.

Customer Review: My son and daughter love these dolls
My three year old son and 18 month old daughter love these dolls. My son pretends that each of these dolls is an actual person that he knows. They are great for individual play. The only complaint I have is that he has trouble getting them to stand up on their own.
Customer Review: Not very fun
They have these dolls at my old school. I do not like them. They weren’t fun. I’d much rather have Barbie dolls than these. These may be good for little kids, but not for my age kids.

Customer Review: Great game, especially for kids
When we first got this game, we blasted our way through every carnival game on the disc. Some were more fun than others, I like the only where you throw the ball at the clowns on a shelf the best. After a few times through each game, it tends to get a bit boring, and I don’t play it so much anymore. The kids still like playing the game though, and would play any chance they could in order to increase the “prizes” that they have earned. This would be a great party game though, given that the games are short, and there’s such a huge variety of games to pick from.

One thing that was frustrating to me was that I thought it only worked with one remote. Well, I didn’t see it until after a few games of passing the remote back and forth, but at the beginning, when you’re going head to head with someone, there’s a box you have to click which changes it so that each player has his/her own remote. Once I figured that out, the game was much more enjoyable.

Overall, a fun game for sporatic play, but definitely not something that you’ll be playing everyday.

Customer Review: Fun, Fun, Fun
This game is truly like being at a real Carnival. The only thing missing are the real stuffed animals. The skill it takes to play the games is amazing. I am using this game at my game party and I will have real stuffed animals, cotton candy, pop corn, ice cream, all the good stuff at a carnival. The only thing tht will be missing is the threat of rain and pesky insects. I love it!

Customer Review: Creative new Nancy Drew books
As a collector of all things Nancy Drew, I love these books. They are graphic novels featuring the titan-haired detective and the other familiar characters from the Nancy Drew novels. The stories are new and modern, with a anime twist to them. There’s a bit more supernatural flavor to these. I am not generally a fan of graphic novels, so I can’t comment on their quality from that perspective, but I think they are an entertaining and unusual format of story for lovers of Nancy Drew.

Did not enjoy these books - will stick with books written under Carolyn Keene.

iTouchless Stainless Steel Hands-Free Infrared Automatic Trash Can, 13 Gallon (49 Liter)

iTouchless Stainless Steel Hands-Free Infrared Automatic Trash Can, 13 Gallon (49 Liter)
Once you’ve tried the iTouchless Touchless Trashcan, you will never go back to the traditional or step-on trash can again. After all, your trashcan is your most-used everyday “appliance,” so why not make it easier, more pleasant, and a lot less messy to use?

iTouchless trashcan opens and closes without touching the bin. View larger.

About the Touchless Trashcan
The 13-gallon, brushed stainless steel Touchless Trashcan is a patented product that’s already widely recognized in Europe. Thousands have been sold on infomercials, QVC, and HSN home shopping channels. It also won the 2002 Invention Show, New Household Product Award. It is a 100 percent hands-free operated, wireless, lidded waste disposal system. The built-in Artificial Intelligent (AI) Smart-Chip knows when you need to open trash can, and it does all the openings and closings for you so you don’t have to touch or step on anything.

How it Works
The Touchless Trashcan uses patented, invisible, and harmless infrared technology. Simply place your hand or debris about six inches away from the infrared sensor near the lid. It will open instantly when you approach and will close automatically in three seconds after debris has been released and your hand moves away. The lid will remain open if debris or your hand is within the 6-inch range of the infrared sensor. There are two buttons on the front to open and close the lid manually, and a easy to reach on/off switch on the back of the trashcan.

The Benefits of the Touchless Trashcan
This trashcan creates a germ free, odor free, automated environment. It keeps your hands clean while you are cooking or playing with your children. It also helps prevent contamination, which reduces the threat of certain illnesses and infections. Because the trashcan turns an ordinary chore into something fun, your kids will have fun throwing the trash away for you. In addition, the Touchless Trashcan outlasts most of the step-on and hand-touch cans. If you can’t touch it, you can’t break it! These cans have been opened 100,000 times in laboratory tests, and they’re still going strong. In fact, if you open your can 20 times a day, it can last over 10 years. This could actually be the last trashcan you ever buy, which will save you money, mess, and time.

Technology and Eco-Friendly Features
Professionals recognize Touchless Trashcan as the next generation of waste receptacles. Its non-touch hygienic features meet the immediate needs in healthcare facilities and elderly homes. The new SilenX technology makes the closing of the lid even quieter while the “eagle eye” water-resistant sensor features reliable point-n-lock beam technology. In addition, the special energy saving design of Touchless Trashcan enables its four “D” size heavy duty batteries to support up to 10,000 consecutive openings and closings, or more than one year of use in non-frequent circumstances. There’s also never a “fallen bag” problem with the Touchless Trashcan. The specially designed garbage bag retainer ring tightly holds the edges of the bag to prevent it from falling, and it seals the odors inside. You can use regular plastic garbage bags or even grocery bags, so there’s no need to buy special garbage bags which many high-end garbage cans require.

The Touchless Trashcan will improve the look of your kitchen, giving it an ultra-modern look and feel. It comes with one year limited manufacturer’s warranty and a 60-day unconditional money back guarantee.

Customer Review: A delight while it worked. And then, after a month
This product was a delight while it worked. Even my two teenage sons, who rarely compliment anything, independently said “I love this garbage can.” Alas, it broke after a month–the lid stopped opening. Fresh batteries did not help. It simply stopped opening, even when I pressed the manual open button. It’s too bad–it helped keep the kitchen clean, the garbage lid itself stayed clean, and it was tall enough that the dog couldn’t activate the sensor. But, in the end, it gave only a month of utility before it joined the ranks of yet another appliance that had to be returned.

Customer Review: Works fine for me
So far the experience with this trash can has been great, don’t have any complaints, other than sometimes I walk to close to it. Which I knew could be a problem when I bought it because of where it would go, a small price to pay compared to the filth that was on my old trash can lid. So, so far so good.

Customer Review: I love Oxcart Man!
This is a wonderful book about earlier and simpler days when a family wasted nothing and supported themselves off the land. Each member of the family contributes and their activities change as the seasons do. It’s wonderful!
Customer Review: Ox-Cart Man
This is one of my family’s all-time favorite children’s books, with lovely, quiet pictures and a calm tone in the text. We love the feeling of the “circle of seasons” that it gives, as well as a glimpse back into a simpler era. The story also portrays the ethic of working hard and being rewarded for it. I read it to all five of our children as they were growing up. This Christmas I bought it for our 23 year-old daughter, who had asked for it. She doesn’t have children yet; she just loves the book and wanted it for her own library. I was pleased to see Donald Hall’s poem, “Ox-Cart Man”– almost identical to the words in the children’s book– in Garrison Keillor’s book called Good Poems, an anthology of poems he selected and arranged.

We bought this bike for our 4 year old and he loves it!! It is very well made, fairly easy to assemble, and looks sporty! It is very safe as our little speed demon flies around the neighborhood without tipping over! We highly recommend this bike!

Customer Review: Fun, exciting toy
My nephew asked for a “Big Wheel” because he was having difficulties riding the regular bike I bought him. He’s quit small for a 4 yr old. He loves it. Although much of this product is plastic it seems very sturdy and has held up to his daily use very well. It seems better built than the real big wheel product that I saw at Toys R Us. I would buy this again

The Guitar of Bo Cart
Bo Carter was a great guitar player. He played with absolute facility in a variety of tunings and keys and his harmonic sense was unique in the Country Blues. Bo’s recording career in the pre-World War II period, from 1928-1940, was of a longevity equaled by very few Country bluesmen. His repertoire centered on (but was not comprised exclusively of) “party” songs, such as Let Me Roll Your Lemon or Pussy Cat Blues. Whatever you may think of the “single entendre” aspect of some of his lyrics, when you really listen to what Bo Carter was doing, it become perfectly obvious that he was one of the great masters of Country Blues, and a player of unusual versatility, subtlety and imagination. As with other players of his generation, the origins of Bo’s music are shrouded in mystery, and it is very unlikely we’ll ever find an explanation for the harmonic richness of his music, so different from other musicians of his region. Bo’s right hand approach was different, too, picking with all fingers and moving fluidly between alternation, thumping and runs with his thumb. The accompanying booklet includes lyrics and TAB/ standard notation transcriptions of the songs.

Customer Review: The BEST ourdoor toy EVER
My mom bought this for my son when he was 2. At the time, he was a little light and short, so he had a hard time turning and getting the car going, but practice made perfect. This is by far his favorite outdoor toy and he affectionately refers to it as “Lightening McQueen.” Now my son rides around with his little brother behind him in the seat and they are darn cute! We have had this toy for 3 summers now and today the tires split. They are so bald anyway, we knew it would happen. I am online to buy another one or find some new tires. I would not trade this toy for ANYTHING else out there. Everyone who sees him ride it says it is cute and they have never seen anything like it.
Customer Review: fun car
This car is different than other ride-ons. that is why I bought it. the kids love it. My only complaint is the plastic tires have no traction. and I know they will wear out (Just Like a big wheel)so I put traction tape on every wheel to extend the wear and keeps the wheels from spinning. otherwise great little car.

Lone Wolf and Cub - Baby Cart in the Land of Demons
List Price: $29.98
Used Price: $4.44
Customer Review: Best of the Series
I think all the Lone Wolf & Cub movies are great, but this is definitely the best one in my book. All the films in the series managed to combine a strong period feel, and a sort of delicate and solemn beauty with the outrageous and brilliant action scenes, but this one really manages to bring out the former without losing touch with the latter. To put it bluntly, this is one of the very best action movies I’ve ever seen, Asian or otherwise. I won’t bother going into the plot. It doesn’t matter much. Suffice to say, Ogami has been given another contract, and he must kill a great many people along the way in order to make his final hit. (as usual) All of the LW&C movies had westerny feel to them, but this one is totally a Leone film set in feudal Japan. The cinematography in the series has always been good, but ‘Babycart in the Land of Demons’ easily tops any of the other entries. They make full use of the widescreen format, almost never shooting anything in a perfunctory fashion, with lots of beautiful long shots, varied angles and unusual framing. This makes the whole film have a sort of poetic grandiosity which I really like. The natural scenery isn’t quite as striking as in some of the other films, but it’s still quite nice, and the extra effort that was put into filming it more than makes up for this slight shortcoming. The earlier portion of the film contains a great many one-on-one duels, further enhancing the Leone-esque feel, and they are all quite nicely done, if brief. (as you’d expect) The fight choreography is more consitently excellent than in most of the other films, though it isn’t quite as action oriented as some of the other entries. This isn’t to say it has the very best action scenes, but they are all good. The big fight at the end, while certainly not as huge as some of the others in the series, is quite excellent, and is a very fitting climax to the film. The grue is quite entertaining still, but not found in quite as great of volume as it was in some of the other films. However, I actually think this is a good thing, as the gore, while amusing in and of itself, can detract from the mood of the film sometimes. Ogami and Daigoro are as compelling and likable as ever. Ogami Itto is an action hero equal to any you’ll find in the genre. The taciturn, incredibly skilled and violent yet honorable man with no past is a typical action hero, but Wakayama Tomisaburo plays him as well as you could hope. Though I generally dislike children in movie’s, I can’t help but love little Daigoro. He’s a very cute kid, for sure, but he’s also a real character. Sure, he’s not a remotely believable character, but I’m more than willing to suspend my disbelief. The acting is generally quite capable. The guy who plays Lord Retsudo is much better than he was in the first film, which was the only real problem in the whole series. Still, his look is a bit distracting, as his eye-patch, powdered face and wild hair make him look rather like a Japanese zombie-pirate. Of course, that’s not really much of a problem. Thematically, self-sacrifice is an extremely prominent concept, and it can be quite affecting at times. (Particularly the brief subplot involving Daigoro and a pickpocket) In his B-Movie guide, Joe Bob Briggs says, of the LW&C series, something like, ‘famed for it’s geysers of blood, but also beautiful and moving’ That sums it all up pretty well, I think, and is particularly applicable to ‘Baby Cart in the Land of Demons’. Mandatory viewing for any action fan.(The whole series is, really, though it doesn’t make much difference what order you go in, provided you know the basic setup)
Customer Review: no where to rent this tape!
No where to find or rent this tape so I bought this tapes for its worthwhile coz i’m studying swordsmanship right now. but of course so differ from at home watching them duel. really easy to say than to do.they probably did so many takes to perfected the film.

Dan in Real Life

Dan in Real Life
Steve Carell’s best film performance to date can be found in the fitfully engaging Dan In Real Life, where his long-suffering persona suits a character who lets his long-dormant hopes rise for a moment, only to be shot down again. Carell plays Dan Burns, a newspaper columnist who writes about family issues and relationships. As a widower with three growing girls to raise, however, the difference between Dan’s printed wisdom and his struggles with fatherhood and loneliness is often vast. He’s put to a severe test when he packs up the kids for a cabin holiday with his parents and siblings, then falls for the exotic, if elusive, Marie (Juliette Binoche) during a solo excursion to a bookstore. Stirred by a woman for the first time since his late wife, Dan is shocked to find that Marie is actually dating his brother Mitch (Dane Cook), and that she’ll be spending the vacation with him in the midst of his family. From that point, the script, co-written by director Peter Hedges (Pieces of April), pretty much becomes a parade of difficult circumstances under which both Dan and Marie have to keep their attraction to one another secret. Certain scenes work better than others, but there is an overall monotony to the movie that isn’t helped by a lack of onscreen chemistry between Binoche and Carell. Both actors are fine on their own terms, but whatever is supposed to be clicking between Marie and Dan isn’t compelling enough to make one truly care that they get together somehow. Still, this is a film with plenty of moments to like, especially when Carell gets to broaden his previous range of emotions in a movie. –Tom Keogh

Customer Review: ONE OF THE BEST FILMS I’VE SEEN IN QUITE SOME TIME
Why do a lot of folks think, while reviewing a film, that they have to give a synopsis of the plot, even when Amazon does that for everyone. Just stick to reviewing!! Please!

ANYWAY.

This film is well-written, well acted by a 19 member cast, beautiful setting, well - directed… what can I say. It’s one of those films that just grabs you; I’ve watched it four times in a week. Steve is great.

This one is a keeper!

Customer Review: really bad movie gets really bad review in real life
pure, unadulterated cinematic garbarge. granted, to make such a bold statement requires valid reasoning…which i have. the following is a brief assessment of the movie:

the characters are a bunch of yuppie scum who spend time on family talent shows, battle of the sexes crossword style, and lawn aerobics. the daughters (with the exception of the youngest) are snotty brats. the older one is a smart-mouthed know-it-all with a brain the size of a peanut. the other is a trashy little tramp with a promising future in the escort service industry. the brother is played by america’s favorite joke-thief, dane cook, who once again fails miserably while simultaneously adding to his fanbase of pimply preteens and pathetic college student dorks. the love interest is beautiful, mensa-status smart, funny, perfect and completely unconvincing (and unwatchable). the rest of the cast can be summed up as nauseating jerks.

i sat through the movie waiting for something interesting to happen and, tragically, it never did. it was the most overrated and uninventive vomit-inducer i’ve seen in a while. do yourself a favor and watch something else, anything else.

Customer Review: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Volume 1: Long Way Home
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: LONG WAY HOME BY JOSS WHEDON, ET. AL.: For Buffy fans who felt that when the show ended there was still more to be said about the Buffyverse, writer and creator Joss Whedon thankfully has turned to something else he does just as well as TV: comic books. With the first trade of what is officially being called “Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight” now out, it is clear that there is still much to be told by Whedon about Buffy and her friends.

Little time has past since the town of Sunnydale was turned into a giant crater. While there was originally one Chosen One, there is now a veritable army of “slayerettes” in training to be as good as the real thing. There are also two doppelgangers of Buffy, one in Rome and one literally underground in a different world, each intended to distract any enemies from the real Buffy. But at the same time there’s a secret government group - not the Initiative - which feels that the world isn’t safe when there’s such a powerful slayer on the loose, and with some help from some of Buffy’s old enemies, they intend to put an end to her once and for all. There’s also a strange symbol that keeps showing up, indicating something much larger and more sinister going on.

Long Way Home features some beautiful artwork, giving life to characters that many fans thought were done with; the trade also has full pages of the alternate covers from the first five issues. It’s the introduction to what looks to be a long series in the continuing story of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Customer Review: BTVS Season 8 Rocks
Compressed into a bite sized package of comic goodness, BTVS season 8 gives fans a tasty morsel of Buffyness to take the edge off the loss of Joss Whedon’s darkly brilliant show. Only Joss could transform an extraordinarily innovative TV show into an equally dynamic comic without missing a lick of action or losing any of the depth of character that made the TV show such a pleasure.

Customer Review: Buxton Bag lasts about a month
I bought this bag for my mother because she’s always looking for something she lost in her purse. She loaded it up with the things that fit in the bag and for about two weeks, it worked well for her. Although it didn’t come with the advertised key finder, after I spent about 20 minutes waiting for a customer service rep, I gave up. Overall, it’s an innovative design and she liked it.

Then the strap started to fray. It has only been since the middle of January, so two months, and the strap is hanging on by a string.

To sum up, nice idea, horrible quality. If it’s meant for day to day use, it needs to be made better.

Customer Review: Buxton Bombs!
This bag is a huge rip off! It is quite soft but the overwhelming stench wouldn’t allow my wife to use it. I left it out of the bag for several days and it completely stunk the house and my truck up. NOT recommended…

This PLAYMOBIL? My Take Along Dollhouse folds and closes- perfect for traveling!Ages: 3,4,5,6,7 Manufacturer: Playmobil
Price: $31.99
Customer Review: Very Pleased
This toy has been a hit at our house. I love that it is a self containing toy, even though there are many small pieces. The kids will sit and play with this for quite a long time, then they can easily close it and contain all the pieces. This is my favorite playmobil toy for that reason. ;)
Customer Review: Fun
I purchased this for a 2 year old girl who is advanced for her age. She liked it very much. The pieces are VERY tiny so they need to be kept away from children who put things in their mouths. Convenient to take the dollhouse anywhere and all the pieces fit inside for storage. It is very cute and she will be able to enjoy it as she grows older.

Customer Review: good
this would be perfect if it had a non stick plate on bottom. otherwise great

Customer Review: Consumer Reports
I used to buy Rowenta irons for several households, until they kept on leaking and breaking down. When I needed to buy a new one I read in Consumer Reports about this Black & Decker Iron, it is truly great and does what it says. I cannot recommend it highly enough and have purchased a total of three so far. Go for it!

Super Dodge Ball Advance
As the most malicious playground game ever (well, next to the social anxiety of musical chairs), dodge ball gets its proper, playful venue on the Game Boy Advance with Super Dodge Ball Advance. The game, based on the NES classic, takes place in the not-so-distant future when the sport of preteens has become the sport of kings and national pride hangs on the home team’s ability to triumph in the number-one worldwide sport. Gamers choose a national team and compete against eight other countries in tournament-style bouts. You can knock the competition woozy with all sorts of different moves (that slam-a-jam jump-throw is our favorite), customize your team by defining the attributes of your players, and play head-to-head against a friend’s Game Boy Advance with the separately sold communication cable.
Used Price: $12.11
Customer Review: Awesome Game
Super Dodge Ball Advanced is a great game. In my opinion, its got lots of replay value. Sure, you can beat it in a half hour or less, but its a sports game, so you can keep playing. The graphics are average, but how good graphics do you need to play a dodge ball game anyway. The music is alright, but a little repetitive. The game can be either really hard or really easy and anything in between with the five difficulty settings and other settings too such as, how tough it is to throw a super throw. You can link up, but I never have so I couldn’t tell you how fun that is. To sum it up here is a list of pros and cons. PROS- 1. Good replay value 2. Multiple diffuclty settings 3. Average graphics 4. Appropriate for all ages, but then again, what isn’t 5. Its dodgeball 6. Game Link compatible 7. You can name characters and teams even not your own CONS- 1. Repetative music 2. Unlike the NES game, there isn’t a bean ball mode(mode that pits you individually against your teammates on a field) 3. Also unlike the classic, there aren’t any River City Ransom Graphics, instead people don’t even have noses. If you never played River City Ransom, the old dodgeball game or World Cup just forget that con 4. There is no team creator, which really, really sucks. That also ruins the whole point of versus mode too because you both have the same premade teams with just possible name differences. 5. Too short of a game, needs more teams or something.
Customer Review: Fun but shallow
This game is a blast but I must say its extremly shawdow. Fans of the old dodge ball game from an older nintendo system will probly love this game, I did but then I unlocked everything in a hour or so, sure there is more matches to play but its just a bunch of the same, I wore this game out in a day or two which is a shame because its a great game…just not enough substance. Get it if you pay $$$ or less definatly, think about it strongly otherwise.
