Customer Review: Top quality transfer and great bonus material
I normally don’t care about bonus material, but this one actually comes with a ton of cool extras, both in the box and on the discs. Highly recommended.

Customer Review: Blu-ray Edition Review
I have very mixed feelings about this set. I love the Dirty Harry movies, but if you already own them, there is very little reason to upgrade to Blu-ray. The first two movies have almost no improvement over an upconverted DVD. They are very grainy and dark and even though these are 1970’s movies they could have done a much better job restoring them. There is even dirt on many of the frames - NOTICEABLE dirt. It almost felt like watching it in a movie theater after the print had been used a few hundred times. The rest of the movies are better, but the PQ is still maybe a 3.5 out of 5.0. The extras that are included are “okay” but I wish they would have just left them out, given us traditional blu-ray boxes in a slipcase and dropped the price about $30 to $49.99. Even better would be to throw all 5 movies into a case like the Die Hard movies.

5.0 for the movies

1.5 for the PQ on the first two movies

2.5 for the last 3

3-4.0 for the sound quality.

This was made I believe in 1983, and though some things have changed, it really helps to see it live. She keeps referring to the ’sizing chart’ which is not included, and that was very frustrating. I’m trying to find a way to contact her if that is possible, or find some sizing chart, but it really is extremely helpful to watch someone at work. Good video.

Customer Review: Your Little Girl Will Love It!
This wooden folding castle is well made and compact, and a little girl’s dream come true. I came upon it while searching for something else on Amazon. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Amazon sold it for about $40 less than our local toy retailer. As with the other reviewers, I purchased the Disney Princess dolls that stand about 4″ tall. It almost became a mission for me to obtain all the princesses, too. Do not purchase the 10″ dolls that are recommended by Amazon. Obviously, they will be too tall to use in the castle. The castle is great for siblings and/or play mates, too, because it opens to be about 3′. My daughters love it! I only wish that Melissa & Doug made wooden furniture to use inside the castle. I ended up purchasing a miniature dining room set from Pottery Barn Kids (from the Westport doll furniture collection) so our princesses would have chairs. I eventually plan to browse some hobby shops to see what I can find. I would suggest going to craft stores such as Michael’s if you’re interested in finding miniature medieval characters to add to your castle. The castle is great for little hands, and since the castle folds compactly, we simply store all the Disney princesses and their wardrobe inside of the many rooms of the castle. Your little girl will love it!
Customer Review: awesome deal
got it from amazon with super saver shipping and it turned out to be a little over half the price of what i would’ve paid locally. i was shocked how fast it came and how well it was packed up. my daughter really likes the castle and loves to play with it in all configurations. not sure how educational it is, but at 4 years old she loves it. the only downside is you’ll lose a bit of floor space.

Requires 3 “AA” alkaline batteries (included).
Price: $9.99
Customer Review: The Farmer Says: Poo Poo
Man . . way to ruin a classic! Toys are made so crappy now. This use to be a cool toy. .They make it way el cheapo now. Save yr money. Mr. Potato Head is still good, magnadoodle is good, some toy pianos are still good, . . . we are buying alot of natural wooden toys (i.e. wood blocks, giant puzzles, we even found the classic corn popper push toy in wood, real instruments that are kid friendly, etc. ). . . not this 10 cent plastic waste of time type of stuff anymore. Work too hard for the money. damn. you can buy sterling silver action figures for these prices! ! ! you could almost buy your own damn REAL farm. ha ha
Customer Review: Satisfied
It’s much smaller than I expected, which makes it less interesting for my baby…the animals are too small for him to really see well. The sounds are mostly great…except that the sound of the rabbit is a “boing” for hopping, which isn’t really consistent with what sounds the animals “make.” The other oddity is the “owl” which isn’t an owl, but a “barn owl.” Seems a little complicated. Anyway, still it’s a fun and safe toy for us to play with together.

Stanley Consumer Storage 014725M 25 Compartment Professional Organizer

Stanley Consumer Storage 014725M 25 Compartment Professional Organizer
Customer Review: It works as designed!
It kept things in their own compartments well. We used one for beads, and they stayed in place even when I shaked it up-side-down. We are going to buy 2 more.

Customer Review: Stanley 25 Compartment Organizer - Great Product
Stanley Consumer Storage 014725M 25 Compartment Professional Organizer

The Stanley Professional Organizer is a great product. This 25 compartment model has a variety of different sized compartments, including several sizes smaller than the one included with the 8 compartment model Stanley Consumer Storage 014708R 8 Compartment Deep Professional Organizer. They are both great.

This one is a little better for storage of smaller quantities of small parts. If you need to store larger pieces or need bins for large nubmbers of similar items (such as nails) you really should get the 8 compartment model instead. That goes as well for people using this for tech part storage.

I have plumber friends that also use this to store fittings. Just about every pro or hobbiest could find a use for this. In fact, there’s probably a million uses, and depending on your needs the other styles may suit you. All of these are really good so you can’t miss.

Love the durable feel, much better than most flimsy organizers I have tried. The compartments are all seperate, much better than the Workforce organizer which only has flimsy tabs seperating the areas.

I hope Stanley expands to this line of organizers because they are all really good.

Definitely try this.

Enjoy!

A must have device if you have the Jabra SP5050 hands free bluetooth cell phone device.

Customer Review: Cheap!
This is junk! I too bought one and tried to use it for my cell phone. It worked for about 5 minutes and went dead! No puff, no click, no noise, just DEAD! It’s not worth the time and money. I found a better one online that has a higher output rating that works great. The only difference is the better one is not as compact and it has a 3 foot cord attached to the lighter plug.

Dream Dollhouse (Where Dreams come to Life) : Used : Jewel
Product Description Fisher-Price Dream Dollhouse engages preschoolers in pretend play in an interactive environment. Children use the mouse to explore and rearrange six rooms, solve problems and act out fantasies. Magical sprites and hidden mouse holes add to the fun. When children enter the dollhouse, they are welcomed by three characters: Mrs. Baggs, Cowboy Bob, and an unnamed little girl, who can be anyone your child wants her to be. Children are also greeted with music, sounds, animations and voices inviting them to play. They can then choose any of six rooms to explore by simply clicking the mouse. In each room, a child can click on objects, some of which have special sounds or animations attached to them. Many objects can be moved, so that a child can put clothes on a dress form, put away groceries in the kitchen, or set up a tea party in the playroom. There is a container in each room full of toys and fun things the child can place in the room. The child can also select playmates by clicking on special buttons in the room. One special feature you won’t find in a real dollhouse is the ability to magically redecorate with Sprites. Three fairies — Sparkle, Flora, and Turnabout — can move about the room (controlled by the child with the mouse). Twinkling lights and music show which objects the Sprites can change. Flora might change the bedroom rug and bedspread into a lush garden. Children find it fun to discover which things the Sprites can change and how they are transformed. Something else you won’t find in an ordinary dollhouse is the secret mouse world. Mice leave a clue in each room, describing where their mouse hole is. By clicking on a piece of cheese, the child will hear the clue. She may need to move some objects in order to find the mice’s secret place. Once inside the mouse hole, there is another room to explore. There is an ice cream factory in the kitchen’s mouse hole, a mouse wedding in the playroom’s mouse hole.

Customer Review: Wonderful reference book for anyone in the business
I ordered this book for my business, and have used it a great deal. It’s a wonderfully photographed book, with great references.
Customer Review: for collectors
This is a good book if you collect dollhouses (already made and furnished). There is great information on the history of dollhouses with sections highlighting examples from England, Germany, and America. Related topics, not always covered are here as well…dolls, plastic furniture, and metal work are included. I found the book to be a bit too technical to enjoy-kind of reminded me of a textbook. No roombox interiors are in this book.

Richard Simmons Sweatin’ to the Oldies

Richard Simmons Sweatin’ to the Oldies
Richard Simmons is the king of motivational exercise, especially if you’re a beginner. This video workout is a dance party simulating a class reunion, with an energizing live band playing lively hits from the ’50s and ’60s, such as “It’s My Party and I’ll Cry If I Want To,” “Great Balls of Fire,” and “Dancing in the Streets.” The singers and musicians sometimes come offstage and dance with the exercisers, adding to the energy and festivity. The choreography is very simple, low impact, light intensity, and appropriate for beginners and overweight exercisers. (You may not get your heart rate up if you’re very fit, although you’ll enjoy the music.) Richard doesn’t do much in the way of cueing–he assumes you’ll just follow along. His onscreen class has women and men of all body shapes and sizes, and everyone is having a blast. You will, too. At the end, the exercisers dance down the floor and the screen flashes how many pounds they’ve lost–several have lost more than 100 pounds. (22 minutes of aerobics, total 43 minutes with warm-up, cool down, and stretch.) –Joan Price

Customer Review: Let’s Party!!!
Excellent product. I had lost 52 pounds on the Sweatin to the Oldies program. The only this is they are great aerobics program; you might have to include sit ups or push ups with the program. Even though I lost alot of weight I wasn’t very tight and tone. However Richard Simmons always delivers with a fun and effective weight loss program.

Customer Review: Fabulous!
Richard Simmon has won my heart with his infectious enthusiasm for fun exercise! When I put on “Sweatin’ to the Oldies”, I can’t help but sing and dance. It sure helps me get in my 10,000 steps a day!!

Customer Review: Grandma Mac
This was for my 3year old granddaughter for her birthday along with a doll house and furniture. We waited to give the doll house last because it was put together by Grandma. She opened the family and sat them on the table , then she opened the furniture same thing, no comment, then when she opened the doll house she put furniture and baby brother in bed and put herself in kitchen I think Dad ended up in bath tub,she walked Mom around the house talking to her. No question they were a hit and even two weeks later still being played with everyday, her younger brother put the family in his trucks and cars. So I purchased the modern family this week. I would recommend these toys because of safety features. I have already ordered more items. Thank you so much, Grandma Mac
Customer Review: Great first dollhouse family
We bought this for my daughter who turned 2 1/2 on Christmas and received a Ryan’s Room-type wooden dollhouse. It was very difficult to find a Caucasian family in stock, but luckily we found this one by Plan Toys. She loves them, and loves that they are representative of our own family members. This play family has really jumpstarted her imagination process and I see her putting them in more situations every day. The quality is good, although we haven’t been using them long enough to know whether any of the pieces will break. Overall, I would highly recommend this product and would buy similar pieces from this company in the future.

A Hard Day’s Night

A Hard Day’s Night
The Fab Four from Liverpool–John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr–in their first movie. Nobody expected A Hard Day’s Night to be much more than a quick exploitation of a passing musical fad, but when the film opened it immediately seduced the world–even the stuffiest critics fell over themselves in praise (highbrow Dwight Macdonald called it “not only a gay, spontaneous, inventive comedy but it is also as good cinema as I have seen for a long time”). Wisely, screenwriter Alun Owen based his script on the Beatles’ actual celebrity at the time, catching them in the delirious early rush of Beatlemania: eluding rampaging fans, killing time on trains and in hotels, appearing on a TV broadcast. American director Richard Lester, influenced by the freestyle French New Wave and British Goon Show humor, whips up a delightfully upbeat circus of perpetual motion. From the opening scene of the mop tops rushing through a train station mobbed by fans, the movie rarely stops for air. Some of the songs are straightforwardly presented, but others (”Can’t Buy Me Love,” set to the foursome gamboling around an empty field) soar with ingenuity. Above all, the Beatles express their irresistible personalities: droll, deadpan, infectiously cheeky. Better examples of pure cinematic joy are few and far between. –Robert Horton

Customer Review: Don’t Buy It !!!
I can’t agree more with the past two reviewers. As a ‘Beatle Nut’, I’ve always looked (& listened) with intent to find something new with each new release on The Beatles, whether it’s audio or video. This GARBAGE that MIRAMAX put out should be taken off the shelves. They’ve totally ripped their customers off (including me)! With today’s technology, it seems they could have sped the audio tracks up to match the ’standard pitch’ of the audio cds. Why the audio tracks ‘dragged’ from the onset of this movie’s release in ‘64 is beyond me. Don’t give me the excuse that it was to match the video - people are smarter than that! It’s just as easy (and more appealing) to speed video images up to the audio track than vice-versa. And to rip us all off by not offering at least a nice digital, stereo track - let alone 5.1 surround / 5.1 DTS??? The mono (digitally enhanced??) track they do offer is worse than Capitol Record’s version of ‘Duophonic Stereo’ on some of The Beatles’ early cuts. Shame on MIRAMAX. Let’s all start calling them MIRALAX…at least MIRALAX (an effective laxative) ‘gets you moving’ LOL! Seriously, people - rent it if you must see for yourself, but don’t buy this piece of s*%#! You’d be better off holding the money out the window @ 70 mph on the freeway - at least somebody worthwhile might profit from you. These morons should be forced out of business!

Customer Review: Never gets old
Before there was Truth or Dare-Madonna, there was a Hard Day’s Night. Based on the observations of the Beatles real lives with a bit of plot thrown in, this fun little movie has some great lines and wonderful songs.

Razor RipStik Casterboard Replacement Wheel Set
Customer Review: Ripstick Replacement Wheels
We bought these wheels as replacements for the original wheels that were on my son’s ripstick and they only lasted 3 weeks of pretty hard use. They definitely did not meet my expectations.

Customer Review: Short Lived
The RipStik is a blast, however, these wheels wear out much fast than expected. I am going to try inline skate wheels that are the same size and see if I can find some that last longer.

Customer Review: dollhouse game
This is a very cute game. The only draw back is its difficult to get back to the beginning. My 4 yr old likes this. Some of the characters say really funny things. It has a uniqueness to it.
Customer Review: basically a dollshouse
The game lives up to its name, its a dollshouse. You pick the furniture and put it where you like almost as a number of things refuse to allow you to place them where you want even when there is plenty of room. You cannot place an object or person behind another item unless you put the back item in first. The fun part is decorating the rooms and seeing the characters you place in the rooms interact. It would have been nice to have had more variety in the characters as you only get two cinderellas, anastasia drusella and the stepmother, the prince, three mice, a dog, aa cat and a couple of birds. You can change the wallpaper, floor, ceiling, curtains etc (three choices of each) Also the furniture has three choices. Disappointing is the promised downloadable decorations, they downloaded but wont run. Overall the game is click and point, so the kids are not amused long and seldom return. It came in a package with three other games otherwise I probably would not have purchased it but games geared towards girls a few and far between with disney and barbie being almost the only ones.

Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas

Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas
For those who never thought Disney would release a film in which Santa Claus is kidnapped and tortured, well, here it is! The full title is Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, which should give you an idea of the tone of this stop-action animated musical/fantasy/horror/comedy. It is based on characters created by Burton, the former Disney animator best known as the director of Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and the first two Batman movies. His benignly scary-funny sensibility dominates the story of Halloweentown resident Jack Skellington (voice by Danny Elfman, who also wrote the songs), who stumbles on a bizarre and fascinating alternative universe called … Christmastown! Directed by Henry Selick (who later made the delightful James and the Giant Peach), this PG-rated picture has a reassuringly light touch. As Roger Ebert noted in his review, “some of the Halloween creatures might be a tad scary for smaller children, but this is the kind of movie older kids will eat up; it has the kind of offbeat, subversive energy that tells them wonderful things are likely to happen.” –Jim Emerson

Customer Review: New Special Edition coming out on August 26

Customer Review: A TIMELESS CLASSIC
Every so often a movie comes around that from the first time you see it, it grabs you and you instantly know it’s going to be a classic. ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ is absolutly one of those movies!!!

T.N.B.C. is a 1993 stop-motion, animated musical created and written by Tim Burton, directed by Henry Selick, and scored by Danny Elfman.

Our story starts off with a very memorable musical introduction to ‘Halloween Town’, one of the many ‘holiday worlds’. We are then introduced to Jack Skellington, the ruler of Halloween town and said to be the scariest being in the world. Then we meet Sally, a Frankenstein-type of rag-doll who seems to have a crush of sorts on Jack. After Halloween festivities, Jack grows bored of his day-to-day life. As he is wandering in the forest one day, he comes to a group of trees that have very unique markings. As jack is inspecting one, he accidently falls in, and finds himself in ‘Christmas Land’. Jack is amazed at what he sees, and immediatly begins a plan to combine the holidays…Unfortunatly to a near disasterous consequence.

T.N.B.C. was inspired by shorts like ‘Rudolph’ and ‘The Grinch’ with a Halloween twist, and Burton put the skeleton(no pun intended)of the story together while working as an animator for Disney. The movie had a very difficult production. It took over 3-years to complete, and needed many different scale-models of characters and the town itself. This was the first time that a feature production has this much stop-motion.

The acting is relative. Being a stop-motion animated movie, the acting is done vocally. Chris Sarandon, Danny Elfman, Cathrine O’Hara, Glen Shadix, and Ken Page give great peformances.

Danny Elfman wrote the score to the film and was nominated for a 1993 Golden Globe. The film’s music is very ‘emotive’ and an instant classic. Right from the first note of ‘This is Halloween’, the music compliments the story perfectly. ‘This is Halloween’ has alot of identity to it, and works as an introduction and a ‘hook’ to keep you watching; It is VERY sucsessfull.

The editing is perfect. The movie is 76 min. and moves at a good pace, and the musicals never go on to long(although it wouldn’t be a problem because the score is great).

T.N.B.C. is just one of those movies that instantly shines and becomes unforgetable. From the first I saw it, I new people would still be watching it and talking about it years after the release. When the movie was first released, The execs. at Disney were concerned that the film might be to ‘dark’ for young children(given that ‘Oogie Boogie’ kidnaps and tortures Santa)but the movie doesn’t ‘push the envelope’ far enough to cause concern. I bought this for my niece’s 2nd birthday, and she watched it 3 times as soon as I gave it to her; this movie is perfect for introducing your children to scary movies!!!

This is a timeless classic and a must have for children and adults alike(almost like ‘A Christmas Story’)!

My Amazon Bro Mike Lidell has informed me that this will be re-released with additional bonus features in August!! My biggest question is how can a movie like this go out-of-print??
