Underfoot at the Playground -- Smart, Safe Choices (Lexington Clipper-Herald)

(ARA) - Ask any child about their favorite playground activities and they may mention the swings, slides, bars or various other playground games and equipment. What you are not likely to hear from anyone, though, is anything about the surface they play on.

Lions Park playground in Urbandale will get safety tiles (The Des Moines Register)

The Urbandale City Council has accepted an Iowa Department of Natural Resources grant for playground-safe surfacing. The grant provides the city with up to 1,500 square feet of rubber playground safety tiles to be installed at Lions Park. The rubber tiling is scheduled to be installed for spring 2009.

Education before the hunt (The Mercury)

The hunter hands over a gun to his buddy while mentioning the safety is broken. His gun is loaded as they sit in the car and a beer bottle is visible. They stop at the top of a hill on the road where a deer is standing. The driver leans out his window and shoots at the deer.
